Allegro – Tip of the week: Write Vs. Save

Do you know the difference between Write and Save commands?

This tip will help you if you want to save a version of your current board file and still want to work on the original rather than the saved version.

The “Write <filename>” command can be used on the Allegro Command window to save the current board file you are working on as a new name and keep the current file open using its current name. It saves the currently active layout as <filename>, while keeping the layout displayed and active. This differs from the Save As command that will create and open a new file called <filename>.
