Documentation Editor

The final step of every design is to consign information in a manner that is easy to share and communicate to the manufacturer or other designers. PCB Editor helps in this task by offering a dedicated interface with commands to display relevant information.

With Documentation Editor, you can create customized dimensioning for Rigid/Flex PCBs. The interface will allow you to set the units for all measurements and present to the user the options to add drill tables, cross-section information, and so on.

Once you have set up the units of the design, you will be presented with the following interface:

The first step to using the editor is to add a sheet. You can do this by selecting New Drawing > Fabrication Drawing:

A column located on the left-hand side will have tabs that house several panels that group all the available options:

These options will range from drawing simple shapes and adding formatting blocks to the sheet to inserting detailed information about drills and holes. There is a tab dedicated to Panelization options and another one that will assist you when creating Assembly drawings.

The Documentation Editor tool is a very versatile tool that is part of the Manufacturing options of PCB Editor. Follow this link for an introductory lesson on how to use it.
