'Find by Name or Property' window disappeared when using extend display

I want to use Allegro PCB editor on a multi-monitor environment opening Allegro on the high-resolution external monitor and Excel check sheet on the laptop PC screen simultaneously.

When running the 'show element' command, use the 'Find by Name' option but no 'Find by Name or Property' window appeared.

By changing the multi-monitor mode to 'PC screen only', 'Duplicate', or 'Second screen only', the window appeared back as expected.

Have you met the same issue? Any idea to recover/restore the disappeared window?

You didn't indicate which Allegro s/w version you are running, nor which O/S version...

I can not duplicate your issue with 17.4 S034 on a Win10 laptop with an external 1920x1080 monitor

Close Allegro and open a windows File Explorer window, in the address bar type in %HOME% followed by a return. This should open your HOME directory (usually C:\SPB_Data or similar). In here descend into the pcbenv folder and look for the allegro.geo file, delete this then restart the tools. The window should be re-defined. The allegro.geo file stores the locations of forms etc so it may have become corrupt or fixed to a certain monitor.

This problem happens to me every time I switch from a single wide external monitor +laptop screen at home, to laptop screen + 2 regular external monitors at work.  It is extremely annoying to have to delete the allegro.geo file every time.  It would be cool if a root-cause and solution are found instead of a workaround.
