How to add multiple heights to a component especially for connector models ?

I have a connector model to which I need to add multiple heights, how can I do that In Allegro PCB editor ? I used package_heigt_min & package_height_max but that didn't help.

    When I worked at Intel we added multiple place_bound shapes for each specific height areas & then added the specific properties to each

    Placf bound are 3D cube; you can have as many place bound that needed in order to describe the component volume.

    Example: imagine a component touching pcb on left and right side but starting from 2mm betxween thoses two side: both side will be drawn with individual  place bound with only the "max heigth" value and the intermediate part will be draw with a place bound having "min heigt" to 2mm and mmax heigth" same as the two others place bound.

    In fact you make a "cube" construction in order to describe the component volume.

    Hi Jordan.

    For component heights etc if a Step file is available then that can describe the package pretty good. If you have to create that package then that means using the placebound subclass.

    The easy way to do it is create the parts of your package bit by bit just using lines first. Then you compose those lines into a shape so as to make them solid.You apply package height max or package height minimum properties to show height in the Z-Plane of the package.

    So to begin as an example and look at the circles in green. Draw your objects on the Package Geometry > Assembly top layer so as to describe the body of
    the package. When complete go to Shape > Compose a shape. In the options pane select package Geometry place bound top and draw a window box around each item. When complete you will have shapes to represent the flat lines. Right click on each shape to set the min, max height properties to give the shapes a Z-Height. Slide the shapes into place. Delete the original lines on the assytop layer if you don't need to keep them .
