Changing Line to Shape Spacing for a net

Hi~

I am trying to edit the Line to Shape Spacing of a particular net in the Constraint Manager.  I presume the setting for this is by layer, i.e. expressed as Top:L2:L3:Bottom.  When I change the top spacing in the circled setting to 4.00:5.00:5.00:6.00, I get the error below.  I'm not quite sure what it means.  Anyone have any insight?

Thanks,

Melview1

    Hello,

You entered multiple values in single cell. Add layer wise values in Spacing Cset created in Spacing worksheet. Refer below article from cadence support site.

u do not need to set the spacing by layer.

u can set it up by net on the comstraint manager.

    Hello,

Directly setting layer specific values for a Net is not supported, it would be best to update the Spacing Constraint Set in this case.

In general, it is better to manage constraints at the highest possible level and not directly set values on individual nets (lowest level) whenever possible.

In your example, you could hover over the field and RMB > Go to source to open the associated Constraints Set and make the changes there.  In addition, you get a better picture of the different values in the preview string with an easier way to modify them.

Associated Constraints Set name is under the Referenced Spacing CSet column

    Hope this helps,
    Mike Catrambone

Ahh, so I couldn't change the value because it was being driven by the associated cset.  Got it.  What a terrible error message.  I just went ahead and created a new cset with the modified spacing value and assigned it to the net.  Worked like a charm.  Thanks Mike!
