You can check status of component by selecting symbols in Find filter tab, then select that symbol, choose Display -> element.

    Hi VVRD,

Let me explain the requirements. Is it possible to figure out inside the board outline, How many component placements are still pending in addition to manually counting them? similar to the display>> status.

    cheers

    Hi Jithindev,

You can view the components to be placed on the board in Placement List tab in Placement window when you select Place -> Manually. Hope this helps. In below screenshot, I just had two components, R1 and R2, I placed R1 on board and you can see R2 in the list which wasn't placed yet.

    Thank you

    Hi VVRD,
    Thank you for the reply.
I have one more requirement. Status of components placed inside form factor (board outline) and outside.
Is it possible to do other than manual counting?

    Cheers,
    Jithindev

    Hello Jithin,

You can find status of component through "Find by Query". Select Find by Query, double click on "Components" in objects tab, select "Placement Status", you can generate report.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, there is no way to report components which are only placed inside of the board outline, Design Status only reports components that are still in the placement list.  There is a DRC Check that will detect when a component is placed outside the Package Keepin but no summary report for components inside board outline - that would be a great addition to Design Status.

How to display DRC Error when component is placed outside of Package Keepin:

    1. In Constraint Manager, select Analysis Mode from Analyze Menu
    2. Under Design Category, expand Package and enable Package to Package Keepin
    3. DRC marker will be placed along board outline aligned to component
      • Displayed on DRC ERROR CLASS / PACKAGE_TOP or PACKAGE BOTTOM

    Hope this helps,
    Mike Catrambone

    Hi  mcatramb91,

The number of edge connectors will be get added when looking at the DRC errors.

can we use the find by query method..? Like a number of components present in a specific area.

for Eg: components present in the design outline.

This is new to me. I need some help if you're able to.

    Cheers
