PCB Editor Sitting on Multiple Licenses

I have been using Cadence for sometime, after a recent addition to the team, we have been experiencing some licensing issues.  Basically, it appears that a user can somehow checkout multiple licenses and then that check out persists.  For example, I have tried to use PCB editor and cannot since I am sitting on all 3 licenses even though there is no instance of PCB Editor open.  I cannot seem to figure out what series of events leads to this but it has been happening with great frequency the past two weeks.

Anybody have any idea how this is happening?  Also, is there a way to releases licenses without resetting the server?

We've seen this same behavior.  In our case, a user inadvertently opens multiple instances of PCB Editor, and for whatever reason when they close those extra instances, the application remains running and can be seen in Windows task manager.  Once the user ends all the Cadence processes that are running in task manager the licenses are released.

Do you switch between network interfaces while claiming a license? Eg undocking a laptop that was connected through a LAN cable and switching to WiFi.

This creates a new license claim while the previous one has not been released.

We use the license, once task completed license is released (tool is closed) the license should immediately move back to server. Even though the network is same sometimes the license gets locked to the system and doesn't go back to server.

What could be some common reasons to cause this issue ?
