Allegro – Tip of the week: How to enable hyperlinks for X-Y coordinates in your reports

Do your reports in Allegro or APD+ look like the following, with no hyperlinks to the coordinates?

If your answer is yes, read on. Following tips will help you.

To enable the xy center functionality from the text view windows like Show Element and Reports, you need to make sure that the longmsg_noxprobe variable is NOT set. When this variable is set, it disables the xy center functionality, which means that you will not see the hyperlinks for x-y coordinates in your reports and hence, you cannot click on it to probe Allegro Canvas.

To access this variable, go to Setup > User Preferences > UI > Xprobe

Also, make sure that the allegro_html variable is enabled. To check this, go to Setup > User Preferences > UI > html and enable this variable. This will be set by default. It is set to use HTML viewing for text windows.

After taking care of these two variables, your reports are going to look like this:
