Understanding Electrical Constraints in Allegro PCB Editor- Part 2

Our last post on Electrical Constraints briefly described about the Electrical Constraints. This post will cover the Analysis Modes and the licenses.

Analysis Modes: Once the constraints are set up in the Constraint Manager, you need to enable the DRC mode checks. If this is not done, DRCs will not be flagged even if there is a violation, and the design does not meet the constraint requirements. You can enable the checks through Setup > Constraints > Modes or it can be accessed from Constraint Manager by using Analyze > Analysis Mode.

If you have only the Allegro PCB Designer license, you will have only the Routing section for electrical constraints.

To have Signal Integrity and Timing sections along with the Routing section, you need to have the High-Speed license as an add on.

For the Packaging tool, for both Allegro Package Designer+ and Allegro Package Designer L, you will get all options in Constraint Manager.
