Hi,

I downloaded the allegro_free_viewer.exe version 23.1, but I can't find to tradition look like allegro_free_viewer_classic.exe for brd file.

How do I go back to the older view? Where can I find the classic version?

This is a poor choice on Cadence's part. Besides being a poor interface it's also unfamiliar.

It would be less terrible if the toolbar was back. Show, measure, etc.

I 100% agree.  Forcing customers to use / learn a new (inferior) UI for the viewer makes little sense.  It's more work for Cadence to support another UI and it 's more work for us to help non-designers in our company use the viewer.

A relatively inexpensive Orcad X license has the toolbar.

I face hate over the Allegro toolbar from my occasional-user engineers on a daily basis.  So, I release to MGC PADS, which buries dead shorts in the midst of hundreds of other DRC errors since there are no region rules.

I can export back to MGC PADS from Allegro 16.6 until we switch to Windows 11.

If you downrev your 23.1 design, previous viewers can be used.

I expect Cadence to deploy SW engineering resources to continue growing the functionality of their toolset.  I need Presto if I'm ever going to escape the hell I'm currently in.
