Hello Everyone,

Greetings of the day.

With reference to the above subject, I would like to inform you that, I have a component dxf file. I am unable to find the exact part number of the same.

I want to create the footprint of the component from the dxf file. Please help me.

I would be very gratefully.

Thank you for your time and support.

this is how i usually do.

first u import your dxf file into a symbol file (a dra file)

then u copy or move the footprint pattern imported from the dxf file into the top surface (or bottom surface) conductive layer.

u may need to create a padstack for the footprint.

    then u assign pins

then u save the dra file and create a psm file and a device file as well.

Actually, to be very honest, I have a brief experience in creating new footprints from padstack editor. However, I have never tried to do the same directly from the dxf file. Could you take out some time to help me out? Please guide me the steps.

can u please tell us what kind of footprint u would like to create?

can u put a capture image of the dxf file?

if posting a capture image is a problem, a cartoon image would be fine as well.
