padstack question

hello

i have padstack A which has a via from L1 to L2 and padstack B which has a via from L2 to L3.

after i place padstack A over padstack B at the same location, i would like to remove padstack A only and keep padstack B.

but it seems padstack A and padstack B are put together as one padstack and it can not be separated.

is there a way to delete one padstack only which is placed over another padstack?

By default, the system will manage stacked vias as a stack, you're right. You can change this through your user preferences, if you don't like the behavior. See the stacked_via_off environment variable, shown below with description.

There's also the stacked_via_multi_split, which will give you an RMB option for splitting the stack. That way, when you click the stack initially, you can RMB and select which via you want to delete, for instance. Personally, I find the multi split option better for me, but you should pick which one is best for you! There is usually more than one way to do anything in Allegro!

    thank u tyler

i was able to remove one padstack only by turning on the stacked_via_off option.

i tunrn on the stacked_via_multi_split option but no rmb option shows up for the multi split as shown below.

The option appears once you have activated the relevant command (move, delete, etc.). The tool can't give you a split option until it knows what you are trying to do with the split out items. Slight smile
