hello

 

is there a way to split a shape?

 

i have asked the same question 3 years ago apparently but can not do it the way steve mentioned.

    Hi Masamasa,

    Try "Delete by Rectangle".

    1. Invoke the tool from the Tool Bar. Manufacture / Drafting / Delete by Rectangle.

    2. On the Find Tab, Only have Shapes check-marked.

    3. Click the shape to split.

    4. Using the mouse, window-in the split onto the shape. This splits the shape in two pieces.

    wow, amazing.

     

    i usually use delete by rectangle on cline to split.

     

    i did not know this function.

    i followed the video and found out that i did not have a routein layer set up.  i placed a plane on the route keepin layer and it worked. thank u steve. u always helped me a lot.
