Dear community,

I had created a PCB board and mapped all the step models with 3D models and i can see all the 3D models in the 3D canvas window, but when i export the step file of the PCB board and import to MCAD tool, i am seeing only plane board without any 3D models, i have provided the step path in the User preference paths.

I encountered the same problem some time ago.

It was caused by the library paths to the STEP-files and their mapping was not correctly defined in my user preferences.

    Hai,

Currently i got solution for that, i had to provide the Step path for all the Step files in the allegro tool and match the step protocol to the MCAD tool.

I also came to know that we can export the STL file from the Allegro tool, what is the difference between the step file and STL file, which is better to export to MCAD tool.
