Hai Community,

I am getting an error while copying a part of the PCB board, not all times but sometimes. When i select the part of the PCB and when i try to copy them using the copy command this is the error that i am facing "(spmhdb-182): 'shape' object may not exist on class 'component value'." Does any know the proper definition of this error and why i am getting them. Also there was no shapes in the part of the PCB when i was trying to copy them.

It appears to be an issue in some older version. Can you please confirm which version and hotfix of Allegro are you using in which you see this error.
Can you try copying a part of the PCB board in different other boards as well, just to see if this error/warning is design specific.
Also, try upgrading tool to latest 22.1 or 23.1 hotfix and check if you see this in latest hotfix as well.

Same things happens to me. 23.1 Hotfix S011. If I restart the computer it works for a while then it gives the error again.

It has to do something with the active subclass.

This happens since some early hotfix of 22.1. (S008)

If you experience this issue:  start to draw a cline on "TOP" (so setting active subclass to "top").

You don't actually need to draw the line, just start and press done. Then resume your copy.

Further more,  this exact same issue is also related t:

    "SPMHSY-49): Error message number: 1"

So there as well, active subclass = Top fixes it (for some minutes...)

--> Anyone at Cadence reading this:  please fix this issue...... It's terribly annoying.  <--

It is not necessary to restart the computer, at least in my case it is enough to close and open Allegro again, or type "reopen" into command window may fix the problem for couple of minutes. Once it happens again to me I will try the guide from B Bruekers below
