deselecting selected objects

hello

 

is there a way to deselect objects that are already seleted?

 

i usually select objects before preforming commands.

 

so i would like to select and deselect multiple objects.

 

i know that selecting multiple objects with pressing a shift key.

 

but i do not know how to deselect objects.

    You can select multiple objects with pressing a shift key i.e Shift+click adds higlighted objects to the selection set as you are already aware.
    For deselecting objects you can press Ctrl key i.e you can press Ctrl+click on the already selected higlighted objects, pressing this removes the highlighted element from the selection set.

    Also, let's say you have highlighted multiple objects in the canvas and wants to deselect them, then you can right-click anywhere in the blank location in the allegro canvas, and select 'Selection set>Clear all selections'. This empties the selection set altogether.
