line to line spacing constraint / drc not working properly

avant

I have line to line spacing set to 0.100. When I slide using hug, the measured gap between the lines is 0.105.

If I change the line to line spacing constraint to 0.090 and slide, the measured gap between the two traces is 0.095.

Where is this extra 0.005 coming from?

Hi Avant, this reminds me of oversizing distances due to grid. If the lines cannot be placed at the exact distance apart for example the tool will choose the safest nearby position. This depends on your design perhaps. I would check the routing grid used which may have been affected by a design unit change. Also check slide options such as gridless option and the bubble settings. Test if this makes a difference.
