What is the purpose of have Min / Max Propagation Delay and Relative Propagation Delay in OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard) if there is no option of delay tuning feature in OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard)

Hai Community,

I was using the OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard), in the constraint manager I have notice that there is option to provide the Min / Max Propagation Delay and Relative Propagation Delay under the electrical Rules, but there is not option of delay tuning feature.

So if the delay tuning feature is not there in OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard) then why the feature of Min / Max Propagation Delay and Relative Propagation Delay have been added to OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard) constraint manager.

If there is any flow of how to use the Min / Max Propagation Delay and Relative Propagation Delay in constraint manager of OrCAD X Standard (Presto Standard), can anyone share me the steps or document to perform this feature.

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

    Hai JuanCR,

Sure, you can take your time, also let me know how to perform the min and max propagation delay without the use of delay tune feature.

    Thank you in advance. Relaxed

    Regards,

Hi RohitRohan, in response to your query. Here is one example workflow/scenario. A designer has been handed a finished design to implement changes. If this user has the standard license, they can still run DRC checks and timing tests using the standard license. For example, the snapshot below shows a slide action which introduces a propagation delay DRC.

Results can be viewed in CM with the standard license, which can be used to return the pcb layout to a pass state manually if necessary.
