Snapping function by copying of the VIA

Hi everybody,

I am using Orcad PCB Designer 23.1 S006. Often I use the function Copy --> Snap pick to -->Persistent Snap (Pad Edge Midpoint).

Unfortunately is something wrong in my Design, so that the by copying of VIA it will be snapped to the PIN center, thus the function Persistent Snap (Pad Edge Midpoint) is checked.

right Pad: VIA copied and snaped to Pad Edge Midpoint -->OK

left Pad : VIA copied and snaped to Pad Edge Midpoint --> NOT OK

This problem appears only with persistance snap and only by copying. Moving and snaping works correctly. DB Doctor without success. New design works.

Everybody knows this Problem?

Thanks

JuriV

Hi JuriVi, yes I concur with your findings. I think the best method is to copy the quantity of vias needed in a cluster and then to move all of these into position using the move and snap.
