hello

is there a way to scale a footprint of a symbol?

scaling a footprint means moving all the pad locations of the symbol by +x% or -x%.

regards

    Hi,

    As per my understanding of your query:

    If you want to move the pad locations of your symbol (.dra file) by +x% (i.e +10% for say) relative to the origin, you can do this by calculating new positions for each pad, adding 10% of their current x and y values to their existing positions.

    For example, if a pad is at (0.05, 0.00):

    [x = 0.05 + (0.05 \times 0.10) = 0.055

    y = 0.00 + (0.00 \times 0.10) = 0.00 ]

    This would give a new location of (0.055, 0.00).

    Then, select all the pads (Find Filter: Pins), right-click, select Move, and enter the increments (e.g., ix 0.005 iy 0.00) in the command window.

    I may be wrong—could you share more details or an example to clarify your requirement?

    thank u for ur reply.

    yes, ur understanding is correct

    however, how would u do this if u need to move 300k pins on the symbol?

    would u do move the pins one by one?

    regards

    masa
