How to resolve the impedance issue using the OrCAD X Professional

Dear Community,

I have created a PCB board and let's say I have found some parts of the PCB board where there are impedance issues, then how to resolve that impedance issue using the OrCAD X Professional.

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

    Hi Rohit.

Can you be more specific. For example are you talking about the impedance seen at the pin of a device. Or do you mean the physical PCB Traces. If the symbols are
for RF what is the expected frequency of operation ?.

    Best Regards.

    Hai excellon1

    Thanks for your reply.

I am getting the impedance at the Vias and the Cline traces.

    Regards,

    Rohit Rohan

You haven't mentioned any design details but, quite likely, you have Thru Vias and the CLines won't have a reference plane where the Vias clear all Shapes and the CLines make a connection. As a result, the impedance, and calculation, will "spike". You can mitigate against this to some degree with BB Vias which won't cause a Shape clearance on all layers and will provide a reference plane.
