How to get to know which user has done what changes in allegro symphony team design

Dear Community,

In a scenario where four individuals are collaboratively working on the same PCB design using the Allegro Symphony Team Design tool, I would like to understand if it is possible to track and document each user's activities.

Specifically, is there a way to generate a record or log that details the changes made by each user? For example:

  • User 1 has performed these specific changes.
  • User 2 has contributed with these updates.

Such a feature would greatly aid in tracking contributions, resolving potential conflicts, and ensuring accountability within the team.

If this functionality exists, could you kindly guide me through the process of enabling or accessing it? Any insights, documentation, or best practices related to this would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and support.

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

    Hi Rohit.

On the logging there is logging within Team Design however the best log so to speak is to be able to see what the designer has done. This can be easily accomplished within team design.

The way team design works is a master design is used to partition the board into sections. Each section can be assigned to another designer to work on. When they complete their work the lead designer imports the section the other designers worked on. It is also possible to review their work prior to importing what they had completed

There are a number of moving parts within Team Design so it would probably be easiest to arrange a demo to kick the tires.

    Best Regards
