How to use the new config feature in the artwork control form?

Starting SPB 24.1 release, the default film record automation is replaced with configuration-based film categories to intelligently generate film records. Although basic automation exists in previous releases to create a film record for each layer in the stack-up with its associated Via, Pin, and Etch layers, additional layers are often required for each film record type, which almost always requires manual updates to the film records.

To access the new configuration, do the following:

1. Click Config in Artwork Control Form (Manufacture – Artwork)

2. The left side of the Artwork Configuration form is for Film Categories, and the right side is for the Film Category Parameters. Select the Default Settings film category, and you can modify the parameters on the right side that will be used for all film records.

3. External Conductor, Internal Conductor, Internal Plane, and Internal Negative Planeare all system-generated categories that are used to generate film records for the etch layers present in the cross section. These built-in categories are customizable; so, you may add other additional layers if you want.

4. These configurations can be saved with the design for use in your future designs, or for sharing it with your colleagues, etc. You can click on Config Filein the Artwork Configuration form to save the configuration to a local file so that it can be reused later.

5. If the cross section has been modified or a new config file is required, simply click on Generate Filmsin the Artwork Control Form after the stackup changes are  This will refresh the film records based on the changes. Then, click on Create Artwork to regenerate the artwork.
