Shadow mode - Retaining rat nests visibility?

Ulf K
Ulf K 2 months ago

Greetings.

(24.1) Allegro Layout Environment: While dealing with a high density layout, the rats nests becomes (almost) invisible when trying to pick the net I am going to route. The rest of the layers becomes dimmed as set in the display panel.

Is there a way or setting to retain full rats nests visibility while using shadow mode when routing?

Cheers

Ulf K.

If you highlight the nets, they won't go dark in shadow mode.

The layout (BRD) was recently updated from 17.4 to 24.1, a process that did not went 100% OK. When no rats could be seen in the working area, the status panel still indicated several unconnected nets/components. After having toggled rats ON/OFF/ON the missing rats appeared both highlighted as well as the behavior of the PCB editor changed. It now displayed not only DRC-distances but also component-court-yards.

IMO this was an inconsistency that DBDoctor failed to recognize in spite of having invoked the routine several times without any errors reported. Since both the customer and undersigned are now on 24.1 there will be no further action from my side.

    Thanks for the tip though.
