Allegro issue 17.4

Hi Team,

I am using one simulation software for layout checking the tool showing errors while importing the board file

Error :

Cannot find Allegro installation -- Allegro 17.4 already installed in the system
An error occurred while trying load SKILL service.

can you please help anyone to add the skill service environment variable ?

Hi SK, this error message does not produce any hits in our archive. I cannot find any background for this. Can you use the Help > About menu to report what simulation tool and version you are using please? Any additional details about your installation would be helpful. Are you also using an Allegro or OrCAD PCB Editor and is this operating smoothly for you?

I am using the AMD layout checker tool for layout reviewing , while importing allegro design file getting the error.

Thank you for uploading this snapshot. I can see this is looking to run SKILL code which is a Cadence proprietary coding language used to access and modify pcb design databases. Therefore it seems you will need Allegro or OrCad installed to move onwards. Do you have this Allegro installation on your machine? and what Allegro tool version? If yes then please check the Windows OS environment variables are created correctly.

I would pay special attention to the path variable. This should have a path listed to your "Cadence installation" / tools/bin folder. Please move this to the top priority in the list of paths. Let me know about your installation first please?

Thank you for your replay...!!!

Using cadence 17.4 version.

As per your comment added the cadence/SPB_17.4/tool/bin to path , now the error is solved.
