datatip information

masamasa
masamasa 1 month ago

hello

is there a way to show the length of a particular net as the datatip information?

i checked the length value on the datatip customization setting but it shows only the cline length on the current layer.

on the datatip info, i would like to see the total length of a particular net accumulated thru all layers.

regards

masa

Hi Masa - it  works for me with both Allegro PCB Designer & OrCAD PCB Designer Standard, maybe it's something with APD?

    Hi Masa,

It is possible to determine the net length by using a data tip, However it only works if the Net is routed. If the net is UN-routed then
the net length will be zero.

In the Data Tip for net,  check the following.

NET - Length, Name & Value "Check both boxes"
NET - Unroute Connection Count, Name & Value "Check both boxes"

Click Ok to save that Data Tip.

In your find filter choose "Net" Hover over a cline that is routed. The data tip should display the net length. I checked this in 16x, 17x
of Orcad / Allegro. Looks to work fine here

    Best Regards.
