How to open a project from within the Design Concept HDL

archive
archive over 20 years ago

When in the Design Concept HDL (SPB15.2) with a schematic design open, how can I open a new or existing project without exiting the current session? There seems no such menu item under File menu for this operation. The New and Open menu items are all for design pages under the same current project. I am new to this tool. Is there anyone having suggestions?

If my observation is correct, how should I write a SKILL function to do that? I know how to write a user command handler but could not find right supporting functions for this operation.

Thanks.

    pjli,

You are correct, there is no way to open a new or existing project without exiting the current session.

If you yust want to opy&paste from another schematic then there is a much easier way ...

Copy the sch_1 folder to an temporary folder i.e. schcopy_1 then put this folder into your design worklib folder. It's instantly accessable and you can open it in the actual session. CTRL-TAB will switch between the two designs, even when you selected a group and hit copy-all.
That's the way I'm using to reuse older design in my current schematics.

    Hope this helps.
