Convert a numerical String to a Point

archive
archive over 19 years ago

I got a loaction which displayed as a string, for example:
"(100.000 99.999)"

I want to conver it to a Point, and I tried it as below:

P="(100.000 99.999)"
point=car(parseString(car(parseString(P ")")) "("))
X=car(parseString(point " "))
Y=cadr(parseString(point " "))
Point=list(apply(stringToFunction(X) nil) apply(stringToFunction(Y) nil) )

=>(100.000 99.999)

How about these code, how about the command stringToFunction?
Is there any useful solution~~
