xml techfile and skill xml parser

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Hi,

Now that Cadence has followed the ubiquitous 'XML is the solution to all problems' approach the skill developers face the drawback of this approach and might have to read XML files in skill, e.g. to read the new tech file (.tcf) from Allegro.
Doing a full XML in skill is apparently not a trivial task and Cadence does not provide us with any help.
Searching the internet one can find 'Closure XML' which is a full blown xml parser in Common Lisp:
common-lisp.net/.../

Has anyone tried to use and/or port this package to skill and could at least seombody with significant Common Lisp and Skill knowledge comment on how difficult such a port might be?
