Skill coding for automatic Film Control in the Artwork Export in the PCB editor

Hai Community,

From the below image for the Cadence Demo Design, the Artwork Films (Below image for reference) in the Artwork Control Form of the PCB Editor, usually we add manually the Sub Class (For Example: TOP: BOARD GEOMETRY/OUTLINE)

But Whenever we create a new PCB layout and before exporting the artwork we have to again manually add all the subclass, is there a automatic way for that, because if we miss anyone subclass then it will cause problem while PCB production.

Is there a method to automatically do this process instead of every time adding it manually, if the process is SKILL code also no problem.

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

RohitRohan , if you want to reuse the films, you can select all in the artwork control form and save them in FILM_SETUP.txt file which you can add any time in any board having similar cross section.

Also, if you create a new board and then initially opens artwork  control form, it reads the cross-section and auto-generates one film record for each etch subclass. The record consists of etch, pins, and vias by default.

Also, if you want to add some layers to a film, have your visibility set up accordingly in canvas and then if create a film, it will automatically have all the visible layers.

    Sure, here you go!!

    1. Manufacture > Artwork > "Select All" films

    2. Right click on any of the selected pins and click "Save all checked"

    3. This will save the film_setup.txt file
