Change Title Block Parameters Beyond Variant Name with each Variant Schematic View - Capture CIS

SimpleFix
SimpleFix over 3 years ago

I'm using Capture CIS 17.4-2019 to do schematic variants. I'm aware of the title block parameter "Variant Name" which displays the currently active variant name, but I need to change 3 or 4 other title block parameters which each variant, such as the assembly part number, sample phase, etc, all of which will be different with each variant. Having one the one "Variant Name" variable is not enough, so as of right now when exporting the schematic in each variant view, I need to go into Edit->Browse->TitleBlocks and change the parameters manually for each variant. It kind of defeats the purpose of having the variant functionality which is supposed to make it easy keep the variant-specific information in a single project, unlike the old days where you had to keep copies of the schematic for each variant. Thanks.

Unfortunately the only option is variant name. Raise an enhancement request with Cadence/Channel Partner to see if they will consider adding other parameters. You may also be able to do this with a Tcl/Tk script.

I've had an enhancement request in for a few years on this one as I've had the same frustration. Many variants to deal with but the tool can't handle it in the titleblock.I eventually gave up because I thought no one else was having this issue so it wasn't important enough for them to deal with.
