OrCAD Tip of the Week: Dump Tcl commands corresponding to UI actions

You may want to record and rerun the Tcl commands corresponding to a GUI action you take on your design. Or, in some cases, you might want to trace back the steps done in the design. For this, it is desired to record the Tcl commands of all actions taken on the schematic.

OrCAD Capture lets you dump the Tcl commands in a file and you can also opt to see them in the Capture command window. To enable logging of Tcl commands, Go to Options > Extended Preferences and check Journaling under Command Shell.

Check Display Commands to display the commands in the Capture command window and check Flush Commands to log them all in a file in the temp directory.
