Select filter in Capture/Orcad

I don't know if it is just me, but I find the select filter annoying. It needs to be OKed or Cancelled each time that it is used and blocks

all commands when it is on screen. So just for fun I decided to write my own version which is a floating form and does not block.

Here it is if anyone is interested.

I'm glad you like it. I add a menu pick for it which allows me to have a ctrl-f shortcut.
The fewer menu clicks the better as far as I am concerned :-)

    Hi,

If I may ask, how do you add a ctlr-f shortcut to a tcl script?

    Thanks,

    GV

You have to add a menu which then lets you choose your shortcut for each menu command. Look for

TCL Programmimg with OrCAD Capture GUI Interface

    TestMenu.zip

in the cadence help files. If you are not familiar with menus you can put this attached file in your autoload directory and modify it as you like. As with all shared code, be careful to test everything before using on real designs...

    Hi Jim,

Your test menu script is exactly what I needed to learn how to make a user menu and make keyboard shortcut.

    Thank you very much
