I need help to write a TCL to change display property justification

Hi,

I need some help to write a TCL script to modify the justification (left, right, default) of display properties object such as normal text, reference designators or any other displayed property using a right mouse click menu . I searched through all the methods applicable on display property in the doc "Orcad Capture TCL/Tk Extensions". I could not find anything to change the justification . The only methods to modify the display properties that I found are: SetLocation, SetRotation, SetFont, SetColor, SetDisplayType.

Which method should I use ? If the method parameters are in a hard to understand format (for instance "logfont") can you specify the values for "left", "right" and "default" justification.

Do you have a tcl script already able to capture mouse click selection that I could easily modify to change the display property justification?

Thank you.

GV

    Hi Gvellet,

command GetLastMouseClickPointOnPage will give the last x and y position of mouse click on the schematic canvas.

I did not find direct command for modifying the justification. But you can write a simple tcl to move left and right by taking the current position of the object and add or substract the x position to move it.

    Hope this helps

    Hi CadAP,

OK I understand there is no method to edit the text justification. I will continue doing it by hand.

    Thank you for the research.

Perhaps Cadence could add a new method for text justification in the next Orcad Release
