Hi everyone,

i am using System capture. i tried to use the Reference designator for the symbol  like start from U1,U2 for IC , For Resistor from R1,R2 and capacitor it should start  C1,C2..

but in system capture Reference Designator included Page number and other. instead of that i required as like capture CIS (17.2) even I tried using Edit--> Preference .it is not working .

Kindly guide any one. please

    Check the CDS_SITE on your system. In your SITE folder go to cdssetup\projmgr\site.cpm check if you have entries such as

    REF_DES_PATTERN '($PHYS_DES_PREFIX)($PAGE)[0-9](00)'
    REFDES_ALPHA_NUM 'UNIT_NUM'
    { REFDES_ALPHA_NUM 'FULL_ALPHA' }
    REFDES_PAGE_PADDING '2'
    REF_DES_PATTERN_FIX 'ON'

    Make a copy the site.cpm file and then delete the entries from site.cpm and save the file. Close System Capture and load your design again and you should be able to see the Ref Des as U1 U2 etc.

    I don't think that regenerate will work because tool will again regenerate the netlist based on the ref des pattern defined in the site.
