Why use Allegro System Capture – Part Manager?

During the design cycle, schematic libraries are likely to have graphical and property changes. The components placed in the design must match the updated libraries. Part Manager comes in handy for the designer to quickly synchronize the design cache with reference libraries.

You can access Part Manager from Tools > Part Manager. Part Manager reports the parts as In Sync, Auto Sync, and Manual Sync.

  • In Sync – Parts that are the same in the design cache and the reference library.
  • Auto Sync – Parts that are different in the cache from the reference library. These can be automatically synchronized.
  • Manual Sync – Parts that are different in the cache from the reference library. These require manual resolution to synchronize.

The Details button gives information regarding the mismatched parts.

Auto Sync parts can be synchronized using the Update button.

Manual Sync parts can be updated using the Part Replacement button, which opens a Manual Replace Component dialog box.
