Why to use Allegro System Capture – Cross-probe with PCB Editor

Cross-probing is a handy functionality, which highlights objects side by side in System Capture and PCB Editor. Select objects like components, nets, or pins in System Capture to highlight them in PCB Editor or vice versa.

You can also work with two monitors and position Constraint Manager and the PCB Layout side by side or keep the schematic beside the PCB Layout and cross-probe.

In System Capture, you can cross-probe between tools automatically or explicitly.

Auto xProbe

Enable the Auto xProbe control to automatically highlight the objects in PCB Editor, which are selected in System Capture.

Auto Crossprobe

Explicit Cross Probe

To cross-probe any design element explicitly, select the object on the schematic canvas, right-click and choose Cross Probe.
