SysCap – Tip of the Week: Creating Hierarchical Split Symbol

It is not always possible to fit in a large pin count hierarchical block on a single schematic sheet. In such a scenario, you can split the hierarchical block into multiple symbols.

  • Open the block symbol from the Project Explorer.

Open Block Symbol

  • Click on the Toggle Symbol Pin Table Visibility to open the pin table and block symbol side by side.

Pin Table Visibility

  • Select the required pins in the in table, and right-click and select Move To > New Symbol.
