Why to use Allegro System Capture – Editing DE-HDL Parts

When you are working on a design with unmanaged or local libraries, you might need to make minor modifications to schematic symbols. System Capture provides an option to quickly edit the symbols placed in the schematic.

To edit a DE-HDL library part, select the symbol on the schematic canvas, and right-click and choose Open Schematic Model.

Open Schematic Model

This will open the Schematic Model in Symbol Editor within System Capture.

You can make modifications like rearranging pins, changing the symbol outline, and so on, and save the changes.

Part Manager will indicate the part as out of sync, which you can synchronize.
