How do you view the updated list of parts used in the design?

There might be a scenario where you want to choose parts that are already placed in the design. For example, you want to place 0.1uF capacitors with a preference of using part numbers already used in the design.

The usual approach is to generate the Bill of Materials (BOM) after packaging/netlisting the design and search for the required part number. This might be a repetitive task while placing multiple different parts in the design and generating BOM each time.

What will be your preferred approach?

1. Package/netlist the design and generate BOM every time you require.
2. Search the design for parts used in the design.
3. Export all part properties from the design.
4. Any other method
