How to compare two schematic designs

Krishnadas
Krishnadas 3 months ago

While working on a schematic, you make modifications to the design like importing sheets or copying circuitry from a reference design, and adding new interfaces, and create multiple versions of the design.

Sometimes, you might want to see the differences between the latest and a previous version of the design.

Doing a visual comparison is for sure a tedious and an error-prone task.

There are different ways of comparing designs. For example,

  1. Comparing netlist files
  2. Design comparison utilities
  3. Using custom scripts
  4. Comparing layouts

What is your preferred approach for design comparison?

We look forward to hearing from you.
