How to compare committed design versions

In a design cycle, there are instances when you want to compare the current version of a design with the previous version that was committed.

Starting release 23.1 Allegro X System Capture, you can do this as follows:

• Load the design in System Capture.
• Once the design is loaded, right-click and select Compare with Previous Commit.

• The difference between the two design versions will be reported in a separate tab named report.txt.

• Notice that the differences reported indicate that R7, Q1, Q2, and R6 parts have been added on Page(1). A few nets have also been added.            

Similarly, you can compare any two versions of a design.

• Go to File > Version Control.
   
• Select the version that you want to compare and right-click and select Compare. Then, select the other version with which you want to compare the selected version.
