Netgroup connection to offpage ports not valid?

Is there a particular reason why netgroup objects can't be connected to offpage ports? It seems useful to be able to create a navlink if the netgroup object is instantiated in other pages in the schematic.

IOPORT (input-output port) can be attached to any netgroup on System Capture schematic canvas as shown below:

At present, Offpage connector cannot be attached to netgroup to show navlinks. However, there is an enhancement CCR placed for this.
