Cross-Probing

Apart from defining functions, alternates, variants from the Variant Editor, you can cross-probe the component from the Variant Editor to Schematic and vice-versa to view the component placement and location on schematic.

To cross-probe the component from the Variant Editor to Schematic, follow these steps:

1. From the Define Functions tab, right-click any component and select Highlight.
   
   
   You can do this from any tab of the Variant Editor. The component gets cross-probed to the schematic.
   
   
2. Search and select J(7) on the canvas.
   
   
   Notice that on selecting the component on canvas, it gets highlighted in the Variant Editor on the last active tab.
