"Using" up licenses even when Allegro Instances are closed

Hello, my team and I at my company are facing an issue where even though we are not actively using a license for Allegro APD 24.1 (the window is closed, and the task manager is not running), it uses up a license. For example, if my team has 8 available licenses, I somehow manage to take up four even though I have none opened up. I have to manually ask my EDA infra team every time to close my licenses that I'm using. What is the root cause for this problem and how can this be fixed so I don't have to ask them every time?

So you're saying you're using 4 licenses without even opening any of the tools? In other words, you turn on your PC and 4 licenses are checked out? if not, can you elaborate?

Well, it'd be a case when let's say I use four licenses, but close Allegro APD. I wouldn't have anything running in my task manager, and APD would not be running. However, I'd be using four licenses even with everything closed regardless.

    Seems to be related either:

    - tool crash, not releasing the licence token

    - network problem: licence is located on a computer, tool running on other computer. If tool is running it have request a token to serve and the lic server has "given" a token to this tool. If network connection is lost and tool require token (it checks time by time if lic server still run), it wait for it until network is "up". But when network return, first token ois not released by tool. Instead server think it is a nex request and give a new token. Server point of view, two token are in use since the tool do  not release the first one..

Furthermore, i recommend wired network use instead of wifi network use since wifi is less reliable and canhave small "cut" even if not seen by user.
