Copying parts of one layout into another

Being new to Allegro I would like to know if there is a way to copy sections of one layout so it can be pasted into another. For example an Rf transmit section or power supply section that has been highly refined would be an ideal candidate to copy into the next design. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In Allegro:
File > Export > Sub-Drawing
Check the options tab for preserving refdes', preserving shape names, and preserving testpoints on vias.
