Allegro Extract SYM_NAME

Hi,

I am  trying to extract from Allegro the component pictures. I am extracting the SYM_NAME, but I wonder if this name is unique across all symbols. In other words, if 2 components are refering to the same symbol name, does it mean they have the same picture? or each component has his own symbol?

thanks a lot.

Thank you oldmouldy for your great support!

One more question please: I am also trying to extract PIN_X and PIN_Y, but I am not sure whether the values are got are relative to SYM_X and SYM_Y or what?

I will try to explain it better: I have components C1 and C2, both refering to sumbol S1. Both have pins P1 and P2. When I make an extract, I get the following:

    REFDES      SYM_NAME     SYM_X     SYM_Y    PIN_NAME    PIN_X     PIN_Y
    C1               S1                    100          100          P1                100         110
    C1               S1                    100          100          P2                100         120
    C2               S1                    200          200          P1                200         250
    C2               S1                    200          200          P2                200         290

How can PIN_X and PIN_Y differ like that for components C1 and C2?

    Please advise,
    Thanks a LOT.
