I have save the color and visibilty settings of my one project (16layer board). then when i try to use the color settings in my other projects, it wont apply. does it need to be same layer count project? please advice. its very troublesome to set the color settings everytime i got a project. tnx in advance.

    Hi,

It is worth noticing that the 'color view' contains visibility settings. So whatever is visible when you save a 'color view' is the same that's going to be made visible when you 'load' it in the visibility control panel.

In setup, user preferences, config_paths, viewpath you can set the directory paths to a place where you can store visibility views (color views). So for larger organisations it is possible to use the same set of visibility settings.

Typically I see users having a soldermask_top view where they have only pins, vias turned on for etch and soldermask. This makes it easy to look at soldermask compared to pad sizes.
