Match groups always resolved down to pin pairs (i.e. you may select nets but the matching applies to the pin pairs within the nets you select - this is governed by selecting the "Pin Pairs" option).

Explicit pin pairs can be defined in the Relative Propagation Delay worksheet, which is used for creating match groups.  To create a pin pair, select a net, right click, select create pin pair, select the two pins from the pop up (you may also create an Electrical Constraint Set by import a topology (.top) file in Constraint Manager and apply the ECSet to the nets, at which point the nets inherit the pin pairs defined in the ECSet).

To create a match group, multiple select the pin pairs, right click, select create match group.
