text sizes

Allegro starts out with 16 text sizes in the librarian and Allegro tools, for a new part or a new board database. Over a period of time databases accumulate additional text sizes as designers add new text sizes.

is there any way to purge the additional text sizes that are not being used?

    Yes you can,

Setup -> Design Parameters -> Text -> Setup Text Sizes -> Compact

    Thanks Keith

I just opened a board file, turned everything on/visible and then changed text to size 3

Changed 8587 items out of 16762 items found.

after I followed the sequence to compact there were still 18 different text sizes numbered from 2 to 29 with some numbers skipped in between then closing and reopening the text setup resets the numbering from 1-18 when I do a global listing of text all 16790 text blocks are #2 but there are still 18 text sizes in the database is this to be expected

I see a not too dissimilar result, my quantities are somewhat different. This is odd. I can only imagine that there are text features which are not visible but are still contained within the database in an embedded form. I have also done a dbdoctor etc. with no noticeable difference.

    I shall keep looking.
